Lucknow: BSP national president Mayawati on Friday said that the only solution to all the problems of Dalits and other backward classes of people is to be in governance by getting the “master key” to it, which is their unity and the right to vote.In a statement on Friday, Mayawati asked these sections of people to walk the path shown by Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and not to fall in the trap of political parties and organisations which mislead them to defy law and order and hit the streets to protest.“Such outfits become active before and during elections. Never get distracted from this path, and make judicious use of your vote,” she said. Her comments came a day after protests over the murder of a Dalit woman in Meerut got violent, leaving a few policemen injured.Nagina MP and Azad Samaj Party chief Chandrashekhar Azad met the family of the victim in Meerut on Friday.Mayawati noted that ‘Babasaheb’ got Dalits and other backward castes an extremely important power, which is the power to vote, along with the other constitutional and fundamental legal rights, to make them stand on their feet.“Babasaheb said that to avail these benefits, people will have to get the master key to form govt in states and at the Centre. Acting on this, Kanshi Ram ji constituted BSP,” she said.“Babasaheb always asked people to fight legally against the atrocities committed upon them and not to break the law. If the matter has reached the court and the lower court has not done justice, then go to the Supreme Court rather than taking to the streets to protest,” Mayawati suggested. She said that some organisations and parties were misleading people and making them indulge in violence and road blockades, while their leaders were reaching the protest sites to shed crocodile tears to serve their political purpose.“But this will not bring justice to the victims. In the present circumstances, it will add to the problems of the people from these communities,” Mayawati said.
