Lucknow: “BJP ke liye dharm ka matlab dhan hai …. (For the BJP wealth is religion),” said Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday, accusing the saffron party of being more concerned about money than religion.He claimed that the CCTV footage of the room where donations offered at Ram Temple in Ayodhya were counted was missing, which only added to his ‘lack of transparency’ charge of how things were being handled there.Alleging land-related irregularities as well, Akhilesh said people of Ayodhya were asking whether the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged donation scam would investigate saints, sages, priests and those who perform worship in temples.“People are asking who will probe the SIT members,” he said.Earlier, he maintained that there was a probe pending against one of the SIT members itself.The SP chief also alleged that complaints about land-grabbing incidents and irregularities in Ayodhya had consistently been brought to govt’s attention.He also claimed that locals and party workers shared information about instances where people lost possession of their land. He appealed to the public to provide details of alleged cases of land acquisition and demolition of houses so that the issues could be documented and raised before govt.
