In Taare Zameen Par, there is a well-known song sequence that captures the world of the “ideal” student — disciplined, focused, always moving towards success with structure and routine. That image fits perfectly with Yohaan Nandkishore Awasthi, Ishaan’s elder brother in the film — the bright, organised, high-achieving child who stands in contrast to Ishaan’s struggles with dyslexia. The actor who played Ishaan Awasthi’s studious elder brother Yohaan Nandkishore Awasthi has now built a very different life off-screen. Sachet Seth, who portrayed the disciplined and high-achieving “Dada” in the 2007 film, is now a certified dentist in the United Kingdom, according to his professional profile.Sachet, who also appeared in the 2010 Hindi comedy Khatta Meeta before stepping away from films, pursued academics after his early acting career. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry from D.Y. Patil University, where he graduated as a gold medalist in Periodontology. He later went on to earn a Master’s in Clinical Dentistry (Periodontology) from the UCL Eastman Dental Institute in London between 2020 and 2023. He has also cleared the Overseas Registration Examination (ORE), making him eligible to practise dentistry in the UK.In the film, Yohaan Awasthi was shown as the ideal elder brother—confident, academically brilliant, and the emotional contrast to Ishaan’s struggles with dyslexia. While Ishaan’s journey formed the emotional core of the story, Yohaan’s character quietly represented the pressure of perfection and expectations within the family.Today, the child actor who once played that role has moved far away from cinema and into a clinical profession. Registered with the European Federation of Periodontology, Sachet is now working as a dentist in the UK, marking a complete shift from on-screen performances to a medical career built on years of study and training.
