Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are one of Hollywood’s golden couples. At a time when long-standing celeb marriages and romance have crumbled over time, this couple has stuck together for four decades. Interestingly, they have not yet wed.Opening up about her unconventional romance with Kurt, the Oscar-winner, shared with Entertainment Tonight during the “Goldie Hawn in Conversation with Jonathan Haidt: The After-School Kindness Crew” why she never took the plunge. As reported by People, she said, “We thought that by getting married that was actually going to take something from both of us that we didn’t want. We want to choose each other every day.“Hawn, and Russell, have been together since 1983 and are still going strong. According to the actress, their relationship works because they value freedom and independence. “I don’t like ownership, you know? And I must say that I think Kurt feels the same way,” she told Entertainment Tonight.“I thought if I was a bird, and then someone put me in a cage, then they leave the door open, I’ll never fly out. If they close the door on me, I’d probably get rid of all my feathers and become a bird with no feathers.”Elsewhere in the interview, Hawn gushed about her man and the life they have built together over the years. “He’s kind, he’s funny, he’s romantic, he’s a wonderful person,” she shared. “Kurt and I are just living our life together. We’ve got great kids. It’s the right match.”The couple share a blended family that includes Russell’s son Boston Russell, from his previous marriage to Season Hubley, as well as Hawn’s children Oliver Hudson and Kate Hudson from her former relationship with Bill Hudson. Hawn and Russell also share son Wyatt Russell together.
