Lucknow: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh on Friday hit out at the UP govt over the order to demolish 38 buildings of Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in Rampur, linked to jailed senior SP functionary Azam Khan. He accused BJP of wanting to deprive future generations of education and keep them uneducated and ignorant.“This action shows how much the govt hates centres of education and knowledge. In a country where education should be promoted, preparations are being made to demolish a university due to political revenge,” Singh said. The MP said that under the present BJP regime, about 1 lakh govt schools across the country have been closed down. He also said that in 1.20 lakh govt schools, there was only one teacher working. “Even today there is no arrangement for girls’ toilets in 98,000 schools in the country. The govt, which gave the slogan of ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’, is unable to provide even basic facilities at the ground level,” he said.
