Lucknow: Four youths arrested in connection with the vandalism of a school van carrying children in Chowk area have claimed that the attack was triggered by a road rage incident after their motorcycle collided with the vehicle and the van driver abused them instead of apologising.The claim emerged during police interrogation after the four accused — Sandeep Rajput (22), Brijesh Rajput (18), Nitin (19), and Anuj Kumar (19), all residents of Unnao’s Hasanganj — were arrested on Wednesday, two days after the incident.The accused told police they had travelled from Unnao to Lucknow on Aug 3. During their visit, their motorcycle allegedly collided with a school van near Charak crossing. They claimed the van driver responded with abusive language instead of apologising, provoking them into pelting stones at the vehicle.Police said the accused’s version is being verified.Police have seized the bike used in the incident.Investigators said the accused were identified through CCTV footage and viral videos, leading to their arrest. DCP (west), Kamlesh Dixit said all identified accused have now been arrested.
