Lucknow: Ahead of the Monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh legislature, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday urged legislators from both the ruling party and the opposition to raise issues of public interest in the House and participate in healthy, constructive debate.Elected representatives from the 403 assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh would gather at Vidhan Bhawan building on Monday morning to take up the issues of the people. The session will conclude on Aug 6.Addressing an all-party meeting chaired by assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, the CM appealed to opposition parties to cooperate in ensuring the smooth functioning of the House.“The session should be used as a platform to discuss matters concerning the common people and to discuss important agendas that need to be taken up in the interest of the public,” Yogi said.As leader of the House, Yogi said constructive deliberations on public issues help in resolving grievances and strengthening democratic processes.“Responsible for raising the issues related to the local population, each elected representative needs to work towards progress and development of the state with sincerity during the session,” Yogi said in his appeal.He also called upon all members to avoid disruptions and support proceedings so that important legislative business and discussions do not get affected.Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, finance and parliamentary affairs minister Suresh Khanna, leader of the opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, Nishad Party president and minister Sanjay Nishad, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party president and minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, Congress’s Aradhana Mishra, Jansatta Dal Loktantrik Party’s Raghuraj Pratap Singh ‘Raja Bhaiya’, and representatives from Apna Dal (S) and Rashtriya Lok Dal were also present.Parliamentary affairs minister Suresh Khanna said the govt would present the supplementary demands for grants for the 2026-27 financial year during the Monsoon Session.“Replacement bills for ordinances promulgated after the conclusion of the previous session will also be introduced and taken up for passage, besides other essential legislative and govt business,” he said.
