Lucknow: A high-level forum on strengthening UK-India relations and supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision was held at the House of Lords on June 19, bringing together parliamentarians, diplomats, business leaders and members of the Indian diaspora.Organised by the NRI Association of UK, the event focused on cooperation in trade, education, technology and cultural exchange.Senior IRS officer and principal commissioner of income tax Meenakshi Singh highlighted how India’s civilisational values continue to shape modern governance.“Divinity and development are intertwined in India’s journey,” she said, linking the ethos of the Mahakumbh with India’s digital public infrastructure and inclusive growth model.Lord Graham Brady and Lord Rami Ranger emphasised the deepening strategic partnership, describing the diaspora as a “living bridge” between the two nations.Speakers also expressed optimism about India’s growth trajectory and opportunities under the proposed UK-India free trade agreement.
