‘House of the Dragon’ has unveiled the explosive final trailer for Season 3, teasing an all-out war, dragons and destruction in Westeros.The highly anticipated HBO series, set to return on June 21, released the new trailer with the tagline, “The throne knows no mercy.”Picking up where the first trailer left off, the new footage follows Emma D’Arcy’s Rhaenyra Targaryen and Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen laying siege over Westeros with their dragons and unleashing chaos in their path. Unlike the first clip that gave fans a glimpse of the the much-talked about Battle of the Gullet, dragon fights and more, this one, takes fans through a burning city descending into violence and chaos while its armies go to battle across the Seven Kingdoms and its Queen claims her throne.Season 3 will reportedly pick up directly after the events of Season 2 and centre heavily on the Battle of the Gullet – one of the bloodiest conflicts in George R.R. Martin’s fantasy universe. Showrunner Ryan Condal previously described the episode as “arguably the craziest episode of television ever made.”Based on Martin’s Fire & Blood, the new season is expected to bring politics, devastating betrayals, major character deaths and large-scale warfare as the Targaryen dynasty tears itself apart in its battle for the Iron Throne.‘House of the Dragon’ also stars Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, James Norton, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, Abubakar Salim, Tom Cullen, Tommy Flanagan, Dan Fogler, Joplin Sibtain, and Barry Sloane.According to reports, the ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3 will open Italy’s upcoming Taormina Film Festival that will run June 10-14. The show’s global bow will take place in London on June 8.The third season of the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel will launch in the US on June 21 at 9 pm ET and stream at the same time on HBO Max. The eight-episode season will air new episodes weekly until the season finale on August 9.
