Lucknow: The 3,000-year-old archaeological site of Hulas Khera in Mohanlalganj is set to be developed as a major heritage and tourism destination, with UP govt sanctioning Rs 10 crore for its conservation, promotion and creation of infrastructure.The Hulas Khera excavation site, under protection of the UP State Archaeological Directorate, will be developed by UP tourism department to make it more accessible, organised and visitor-friendly.Officials said the proposed work would focus on improving basic amenities at the site while ensuring that its archaeological character and historical importance are preserved.As part of the project, an open-air amphitheatre, cafeteria will be built along with extensive landscaping and plantation across the area. Gazebos will be developed to provide resting spaces, while benches will be installed at various points.Minister for Tourism and Culture Jaiveer Singh said the initiative would help Hulas Khera gain recognition among the prominent archaeological and tourism sites of Uttar Pradesh.Director of the UP State Archaeological Directorate Renu Dwivedi said Hulas Khera holds immense historical significance as it provides important evidence of an ancient settlement.
