Lucknow: UP Congress president Ajay Rai has alleged that internal conflicts within the BJP were adversely affecting governance and development in the state.“There is a growing dissent within the BJP over CM Yogi Adityanath,” Rai told reporters on Tuesday claiming that his absence from the party’s foundation day event speaks for widening cracks within the governing party. He said despite being in the state, the chief minister neither attended the programme nor was connected virtually, even as other senior leaders participated.“This clearly indicates that dissatisfaction regarding the chief minister has reached a peak within the BJP and is now visible in public events,” Rai claimed. He further alleged govt was failing to deliver on key promises made during the 2022 assembly elections, including employment generation, doubling farmers’ income and improving law and order. He also announced that the party would organise an advocates’ conference on the birth anniversary of social reformer Jyotirao Phule in which senior leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi and former Union minister Salman Khurshid, are expected to participate.
