Lucknow: Highlighting the changing needs of the job market, vocational education and skill development minister Kapil Dev Agarwal on Tuesday asked officials to introduce more short-term and employment-oriented courses.The Uttar Pradesh govt is intensifying efforts to equip youth with industry-relevant skills and improve their employment prospects, with a strong focus on quality training, modern technologies and closer industry partnerships.Chairing a review meeting, the minister asked officials to incorporate soft skills, digital learning, communication skills, interview preparation, resume writing and personality development into training programmes to enhance employability.Calling for regular reviews of programmes at both district and state level, Agarwal said that all schemes should be implemented in a timely and fair manner. “There should be no compromise on the quality of training. Every scheme should reach out to the youth,” he said.Underlining the importance of linking training with actual job opportunities, the minister directed officials to strengthen coordination with industries and align training courses with local industrial requirements. “Job fairs organised at ITIs and skill development centres should be widely publicised to ensure greater participation by jobseekers,” he said.Agarwal further asked officials to promote courses in robotics, automation, CNC, digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 technologies.
