Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh state executive committee of the Janata Dal (United) held a key meeting on Saturday to discuss organisational expansion and preparations for the 2027 UP Assembly elections.The meeting, chaired by state president Anoop Singh Patel at Chaudhary Charan Singh Auditorium in Sahkarita Bhawan, was attended by Bihar cabinet minister and JDU legislature party leader Shravan Kumar as the chief guest.The party decided to organise divisional, district and constituency-level conferences ahead of a state-level convention that will be attended by JDU national working president Sanjay Jha.Senior party leaders and Bihar ministers will also undertake extensive outreach programmes across Uttar Pradesh to strengthen the organisation.A major decision taken during the meeting was to invite recommendations for prospective assembly candidates from district units and state office-bearers for review.The party also assessed its organisational presence up to the booth level. Following the completion of the review process, JDU will announce the assembly constituencies from which it plans to contest.Patel expressed confidence that JDU would contest the 2027 UP elections with full organisational strength and play a significant role in the next state govt.Shravan Kumar highlighted Bihar’s development and welfare initiatives under former chief minister Nitish Kumar and urged party workers to take JDU’s development-focused agenda to the people.
