Lucknow: King George’s Medical University will start round-the-clock sample collection for pathology and medicine supply in the Gandhi ward by the end of this week. According to vice-chancellor Prof Soniya Nityanand, a 24×7 sample collection centre will be set up in the ward. The samples will be sent to the central pathology lab, and reports delivered back. At present, attendants have to carry samples to various pathology labs. The Gandhi ward has around 250 beds and handles 100 critical patients, including those in ICU and on ventilator support. KGMU is also planning to start a 24×7 hospital revolving fund medical store in the ward. Currently, the facility operates till 8 pm.
