Lucknow: Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on Thursday sealed 55 establishments and issued notices to 78 commercial building owners for violating building and fire safety norms, officials said. This was the second day of the enforcement drive launched after the Aliganj fire incident.Fire and LDA teams, which found lapses in fire safety systems and emergency evacuation arrangements, said the fate of sealed premises would be decided by the state govt, while those served notices have been given 15 days to comply.The action covered coaching centres, libraries, dance studios, playgroup schools, computer institutes, blood banks, nursing homes, hotels and commercial complexes operating in violation of sanctioned norms.Officials said the drive would continue for the next three weeks and focus on adherence to approved building plans, fire safety systems, emergency exits and occupancy limits. Further action, including sealing, penalties and prosecution, would be taken against erring establishments.LDA secretary Vivek Srivastava said joint teams of the authority, fire department and police continued the crackdown on Thursday as well.
