Lucknow: The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court marked the 12th International Yoga Day with a special yoga session on its premises on Jun 21, reaffirming importance of physical, mental and emotional well-being through the ancient Indian practice.The event was held in accordance with this year’s global theme, ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’, which highlights role of yoga in promoting healthier and more active lives amid rising concerns over lifestyle diseases and an ageing population worldwide.The programme was attended by Justice Rajan Roy, Senior Judge of the Lucknow Bench, along with other judges of the High Court. Senior registry officials, court officers, employees, advocates and members of the legal fraternity also participated in large numbers, reflecting the judiciary’s commitment to promoting wellness and healthy living.Participants performed a series of yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation exercises under expert guidance. The session focused on improving flexibility, strengthening physical health, enhancing mental resilience and reducing stress—factors increasingly recognised as essential for maintaining overall well-being in today’s fast-paced world.The programme concluded with a collective pledge to incorporate yoga into daily life and to continue promoting awareness about its benefits.
