Lucknow: The special House session of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation convened by mayor Sushma Kharakwal, who belongs to BJP, on Thursday passed a proposal condemning parties opposing women’s quota bill, amid uproar and protest by opposition membersBJP has majority in the LMC House. The session began on a stormy note as corporators from the Samajwadi Party and Congress opposed the move. They had heated exchanges with BJP corporators. Later, opposition parties staged a walkout and protested outside the LMC premises.Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, addressing the House, while referring to a protest outside her residence a day earlier by opposition members, described it as an insult to democratic values. The condemnation proposal was subsequently passed by the BJP corporators.
