Lucknow: Tenants living in Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) properties may soon face a rent hike, with the civic body launching a survey of its rented properties and occupants ahead of a proposed rent revision. The survey aims to create a database of municipal properties across Mahanagar, River Bank Hazratganj, Aminabad, Chowk, Kaisarbagh, Lalbagh, Rajajipuram, Thakurganj, Alambagh and Charbagh. The properties include residential houses, shops, offices and other commercial establishments.Municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar said the exercise would also identify vacant properties and tenants who have not paid rent for years.Officials said tenants with pending dues would be required to clear arrears. “After the survey, a proposal for rent revision will be sent to the govt,” Kumar said.
