Lucknow: Tea stalls, food stalls and street-side food businesses that typically bustle with evening crowds during Ramzan at places like Burlington Crossing and Phoolbagh are now struggling to keep their stoves running.Vendors say that during the fasting month, people step out in the evenings to buy snacks for iftar, making it one of the most important earning periods. However, in the last 10 days, the shortage of LPG cylinders has disrupted their operations, leaving many worried about their livelihood.Owner of a snack shop in Phoolbagh, Adil Khan said they were unable to fully start operations.“During Ramzan, we usually sell more in the evening when people gather after iftar. But now this shortage has interrupted our flow of sales. I tried to procure cylinders for the past 2-3 days but did not receive any assistance.”Shoaib Qureshi, owner of a food restaurant in Nakhas, highlighted, “People come for shopping and late-night dinners in the last 10 days of Ramzan. As we are running out of LPG stock, we are looking to switch to traditional fuel like wood and charcoal.”Satish Sahu, who owns a tea stall near Jama masjid, Thakurganj, said, “After the last prayer in the evening, people usually gather at the tea-stall. Those late evenings are when we earn a good amount during Ramzan. But without gas cylinders, our business is taking a hit.”Despite repeated attempts to procure LPG cylinders from agencies, many vendors said they are struggling to secure supplies.
