Lucknow: Lucknow University (LU) has made CCTV surveillance mandatory for practical examinations across all affiliated colleges and departments to curb the use of unfair means.Earlier, only theory examinations were held under CCTV surveillance, while practical exams were supervised by individual colleges and examiners without any mandatory monitoring system.Colleges have been instructed to set up proper CCTV control rooms, if not already available, and ensure the smooth functioning of the system. The new system will come into effect from the upcoming practical examination cycle scheduled for next month.Controller of examinations Vidyanand Tripathi said, “Official instructions have been issued to all colleges, making CCTV monitoring compulsory during practical exams. Institutions will have to store CCTV recordings for a minimum period of three months.”The university will conduct random checks of the recorded footage to ensure compliance with the guidelines.
