Lucknow: Several candidates from Lucknow and nearby districts have achieved success in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025, proving that determination, self-study and discipline remain the key to cracking one of India’s toughest examinations.Adarsh Pandey of Aliganj, who secured all India rank 347, said his preparation was based on self-study and a clear plan.He completed his intermediate from Lucknow Public School, Jankipuram, and later pursued LLB (honours) from City Law College.Adarsh had earlier cleared UPSC examination in 2024 and is currently undergoing training in the Indian Postal Service.“Consistency was most important to me. Studying regularly and keeping a balanced routine helped me manage stress and stay focused,” he said.Another achiever, Vimal Kumar from Chandemau village in Rae Bareli, secured an impressive all India rank 107. His father Ramdev is a farmer while his mother Siavati Devi is a homemaker. Vimal studied at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and later graduated from IIT-Delhi. In 2024, he reached the UPSC interview stage but failed.“Growing up in a village taught me patience and perseverance. Aspirants should stay confident and keep working steadily even when circumstances are difficult,” he said.Vanaj Vidyan from Bareilly secured all India rank 278. He studied at Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow, and later completed LLB from Delhi University. He currently practices law in the Supreme Court of India.“Staying focused on long term goals and revising consistently helped me manage the pressure of the examination,” he said.
