Lucknow: The double-decker bus introduced by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department for the city’s heritage sightseeing circuit – Lucknow Darshan – is parked at the workshop for maintenance for over 25 days, leaving tourists disappointed.Launched on January 7 this year, the bus was introduced as a dedicated heritage tourism initiative to offer visitors a guided tour of prominent landmarks in the city. It quickly became a major attraction for tourists. The bus covers key heritage destinations including Vidhan Sabha Bhavan, The Residency, UP Darshan Park, Hazratganj, Raj Bhavan, Gomti Riverfront, Chattar Manzil and Begum Hazrat Mahal Park.Ashish Kumar, managing director of Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, stated, “The bus is currently under maintenance because it met with an accident some time ago. The service is expected to resume within a week.”“We had planned to take the bus tour during our summer break after hearing about it online, however, it was unavailable for online booking,” said Rakesh Sharma, a visitor from Kanpur who arrived in Lucknow with his family this week.
