Lucknow: Sarah Moin, who is both deaf and blind, often referred to as Lucknow’s Helen Keller, has cleared the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG examination, the result of which was declared on Tuesday.She got good scores across multiple subjects, including English, history, mass media and mass communication, psychology and general aptitude test.She secured 85 percentile in English, 68 percentile in history, 60 percentile in mass media and mass communication, 67 percentile in psychology and 80 percentile in general aptitude test, reflecting consistent performance across disciplines.Her father, Moin Ahmed Idrisi, said, “She worked very hard despite all challenges, and we are proud of her achievement, and her determination has always been stronger than any difficulty she faced.”Sarah was granted permission by the Persons With Disability Special Court to appear in the examination. She was also provided assistive arrangements, including a laptop with MS Word and an Orbit Reader device, which converts text into braille, enabling her to write independently during the test.Her academic record has been strong throughout, with 95% in ICSE and 98.75% in ISC examinations.
