Lucknow: Lucknow University’s Institute of Women and Gender Studies celebrated Women’s Day by organising an outreach programme aimed at spreading awareness about gender sensitivity in the society.Under the initiative taken by vice-chancellor Prof Jai Prakash Saini, students visited and met women residing in an old age home in Lucknow. The programme highlighted the importance of building a society where respect for women becomes a natural part of everyday life. Participants emphasised that both boys and girls should be raised with values that promote dignity, equality, and appreciation for women’s contributions in society. The programme was coordinated by Dr Manini Srivastava, coordinator of the institute. Faculty members Dr Ankita Srivastava and Dr Sanju Tripathi conducted the event. The event encouraged the community to foster a culture of respect, equality, and gender sensitivity.
