Lucknow: A 30-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his in-laws with an iron rod in Sector I, LDA Colony,under Aashiana police station on Tuesday.According to police, the deceased, Vishnu Yadav, a resident of Pratapgarh, had married Sakshi Singh about four years ago against her family’s wishes. Police said the marriage had led to strained relations between the two families.On Tuesday, Vishnu arrived at his in-laws’ residence, where an argument reportedly broke out between him, his father-in-law Teerthraj Singh, and other family members. The dispute escalated violently, during which Vishnu was allegedly attacked with an iron rod and beaten repeatedly. He sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. Police teams rushed to the house soon after receiving information from locals and sent the body for post-mortem. A forensic team examined the scene and collected evidence. “Prima facie, the incident appears to have stemmed from a family dispute; however, all aspects are being investigated,” said DCP, Central Zone, Vikrant Vir, who also reached the spot to supervise the probe. “The post-mortem report is awaited to confirm the exact cause of death. A case will be registered against the accused thereafter,” said ADCP (Central Zone) JK Dubey.
