Lucknow: A 33-year-old married woman allegedly died by suicide after consuming pesticide in the Bakshi Ka Talab area of Lucknow on late Wednesday.She was rushed to Ram Sagar Mishra Hospital in critical condition, where she succumbed during treatment.According to the deceased woman’s family, she had been under severe mental distress due to repeated threats from a man with whom she was in a relationship for the past two years.The woman’s husband said that tensions had arisen between them earlier due to social stigma surrounding the relationship.About a month ago, the accused had allegedly uploaded photographs of the woman on social media, after which she stopped communicating with him.On Wednesday afternoon, while the husband was away for work, the accused allegedly made repeated phone calls to the woman. When she refused to speak, he reportedly threatened to upload more of her photographs online. Disturbed by the harassment, the woman allegedly consumed pesticide at her home.The victim’s brother has accused the man of abetment to suicide and persistent harassment. SHO, BKT, Sanjay Singh, said that a probe is being conducted.
