Lucknow: BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Wednesday said UP has undergone a “historic transformation” since 2017 under chief minister Yogi Adityanath, emerging as a major growth engine of the country.In a statement, Singh highlighted key achievements of the state govt, claiming improvements in governance, infrastructure and inclusive development. He said law and order has strengthened significantly, with assets worth over Rs2,000 crore linked to mafia elements confiscated and over 10,000 criminals arrested or neutralised. Policing has also been modernised through Dial 112, cyber police stations and forensic upgrades.Singh said seven expressways are operational, while several others are under construction. Metro services are running in multiple cities and airport connectivity has expanded, with 16 functional airports and projects like Noida International Airport underway. He added that the state’s GSDP has more than doubled to over Rs 24 lakh crore, contributing around 9% to India’s GDP, with UP moving towards a $1 trillion economy. Investment proposals worth over Rs 35 lakh cr have been received.
