Lucknow: Minor dispute led to a murderous assault in Banthra. On Wednesday, police arrested Mahipal Rawat, 35, for murderous attack on Jitendra Kumar, 32, resident of Mavai Padiyana village. Rawat was charged under provisions related to culpable homicide not amounting to murder.On Jun 27, Jitendra Kumar was riding through the village on a motorcycle. An argument broke out after his bike brushed against a goat being taken for grazing by Rawat’s nephew, Anish. SHO Rana Rajesh Kumar Singh said Rawat reached the spot and along with his nephew Kumar.Rawat said he picked up a mango-wood stick lying nearby and struck Kumar on the head. A seriously injured Kumar was initially taken to GSRM Hospital before being shifted to a private hospital for treatment but Kumar succumbed to injuries. On a complaint by his father, a case was lodged and Rawat was arrested and produced before the court. The role of Anish is also under probe.
