NEW DELHI: Patiala house court on Thursday reserved its order on a petition filed by Baramulla MP Abdul Rashid Sheikh, who has sought permission to attend the upcoming Parliament session while remaining in custody in a terror funding case probed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).The plea was heard by Special Judge (NIA) Prashant Sharma, who reserved the matter for orders after hearing submissions from Sheikh’s counsel and the NIA. The order is likely to be pronounced at 4pm.Represented by advocate Vikhyat Oberoi, Sheikh has requested permission to attend the Parliament session beginning on July 20.Appearing for the NIA, Special Public Prosecutor Gautam Khazanchi told the court that the agency had no objection if the accused was allowed to attend the session in custody.Sheikh has previously been permitted to attend Parliament proceedings under custody and was also granted interim bail to perform the last rites of his father.He has been lodged in judicial custody since his arrest in the 2017 terror funding case. The NIA has since filed a supplementary chargesheet against him in the case.
