It clarified that the Rs 2.25 crore already paid by Rajpal Yadav would be adjusted against the total amount payable.During the previous hearing, Yadav appeared virtually and rejected the settlement proposal placed before the Court. He submitted that he had already incurred severe financial setbacks, saying, “I had already suffered heavy financial losses.” * He further stated, *”I had been forced to sell my property and had already made substantial payments.”The High Court had also proposed a structured payment plan under which Rs 3 crore would be paid within a stipulated timeframe. However, the Court made it clear that the proposal was merely a judicial suggestion and not a final settlement. Despite these efforts, the parties were unable to arrive at an agreement.
