Lucknow: A tractor driver was killed and 11 passengers were injured after a Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus collided head-on with a tractor-trolley on the Gonda-Bahraich highway in Bahraich district on Sunday morning.The accident occurred near Chilwariya Sugar Mill when a roadways bus travelling from Varanasi to Bahraich crashed into a tractor-trolley transporting cement.The deceased was identified as Hari Om Singh, 48 , a resident of Garhwa Nautala village. He died on the spot due to the impact of the collision.The injured passengers have been identified as Sumit Kesarwani, Riyansh, Javed, Neeraj Vajpayee, Rukaiya, Surjam, Parvati, Shiv Prasad, Aaruhi, Suraj and Om Verma.On receiving information, personnel from Dehat Kotwali Police Station rushed to the spot, rescued the injured and shifted them to the District Hospital for treatment.Doctors referred Rukaiya to Lucknow for advanced medical care after her condition was found to be critical. The remaining injured are undergoing treatment at the district hospital.District magistrate Akshay Tripathi and superintendent of police Vishwajeet Srivastava visited the hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured. They directed the hospital administration to ensure prompt and appropriate medical treatment for all the victims.
