JAMMU: Security forces launched a search operation early Monday after a suspected Pakistani drone was spotted hovering above a couple of forward villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in J&K’s Rajouri district the previous night, official sources said.Blinking lights were seen over the villages of Mahadev Menka and Beripattan in Rajouri’s Sunderbani sector late Sunday. The suspected unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) lingered briefly in the Indian airspace before returning towards Pakistan, official sources said.Security forces cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation at dawn to check whether the UAV had dropped any payloads (narcotics or weapons), but did not find anything suspicious, official sources said.On June 8, Army personnel had opened fire upon spotting a Pak drone over forward posts along the LoC in Balakote area of Poonch’s Mendhar sector, forcing the UAV to return towards Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
