Pakistani boxer Qudratullah has reportedly gone missing in Glasgow, just hours before the country’s Commonwealth Games contingent was scheduled to leave for home.According to a report by Pakistani outlet Geo News, sources in the Pakistan Boxing Federation said Qudratullah was last seen in his hotel room at around 2am. Officials later checked his room and found that he was no longer there.The Pakistan team was due to gather in the hotel lobby at 9am before leaving for Pakistan. However, Qudratullah could not be found when officials checked his room, sources said.His passport and return ticket are reportedly still with the team manager. The incident is not the first such case involving a Pakistani boxer abroad, with another promising boxer, Zohaib, reportedly going missing during an international tour of Italy last year.Pakistan’s 21-member contingent finished the 2026 Commonwealth Games with only one medal. Boxer Fatima Zahra won bronze in the women’s 60kg category, giving Pakistan its only podium finish at the Games.The result was Pakistan’s lowest medal tally since the 1998 Commonwealth Games, when the country won one silver. Pakistan had also returned without a medal from the 1990 edition, making Glasgow its poorest CWG campaign in 36 years.Fatima made history by becoming the first Pakistani female boxer to win a Commonwealth Games medal and was later chosen to carry the national flag at the closing ceremony.Pakistan’s biggest medal hope, Olympic javelin champion Arshad Nadeem, also failed to finish on the podium after serving as the country’s flagbearer at the opening ceremony.
