Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Parishad Abhiyanta Sangh (UPRVPAS) has opposed the suspension of Aligarh chief engineer Pankaj Agrawal, terming the action unjust and demanding its immediate withdrawal. The association said the suspension was based on allegations related to smart meter complaints and revenue performance, which it described as unfounded. It attributed consumer complaints and delays in prepaid meter reconnections to technical issues in the billing software, payment gateway and AMISP servers, rather than administrative lapses. UPRVPAS urged the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation to address system-related shortcomings and reinstate the officer, stating that continued technical faults are affecting both consumers and field staff.
