NEW DELHI: Hitting the ground running, the high-level committee tasked with studying demographic changes in the country – in just about a month of its formation – has finalised a detailed questionnaire to seek relevant information from states and UTs.The Justice (Retd) Prakash Prabhakar Navlekar-led committee – the mandate of which includes studying changes triggered by illegal immigration – informed home minister Amit Shah Wednesday about the questionnaire as well as its decision to visit states and UTs, which have witnessed a change in demographic patterns over the years, to gather first-hand, ground-level details from their respective govts and administrative machinery. The panel will be holding interactions with various ministries as well to hear feedback.Shah directed home secretary Govind Mohan to extend all possible assistance to the panel. He requested the panel to compile and submit its recommendations at the earliest.
