R Madhavan who recently won a Padma Shri has been admired for his talent and movies ever since he joined the industry. Infact, he had a huge fan following among women with his romantic movies like ‘Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein’ and Mani Ratnam’s ‘Alaipayuthey’ which was then remade into ‘Saathiya’. But did you know, that Madhavan also had a crush on someone after seeing her onscreen? While the actor has often spoken fondly about his admiration for several stars, he once made a surprising revelation about having a huge crush on actor Juhi Chawla. In fact, after watching her breakthrough film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, he was convinced that he wanted to marry her.During a conversation with Juhi Chawla while promoting their Netflix series ‘The Railway Men’, Madhavan looked back at his teenage admiration for the actor and confessed that he had even shared his dream with his mother. Recalling the moment, he said, “Luckily you said yes. I must tell you, I want to make a confession in front of everyone. When I watched Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (QSQT), I had told mom ‘I want to marry Juhi Chawla’. That was the only aim, to marry Juhi Chawla.”Although fate didn’t fulfil that childhood wish, Madhavan eventually found himself sharing the same project with Juhi years later. Ironically, the two actors never got to face the camera together in ‘The Railway Men’. Madhavan revealed that Juhi joined the cast after he had already wrapped up filming his portions, leaving them without a single scene together.Released in 1988, ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, directed by Mansoor Khan, starred Juhi Chawla opposite Aamir Khan and emerged as one of the year’s biggest box-office successes. At the time of the film’s release, Madhavan had not yet entered the entertainment industry. He went on to begin his acting journey with the television show ‘Banegi Apni Baat’ in 1993 before making his film debut with ‘Inferno’ in 1997.Meanwhile on work front for Madhavan, the actor is still getting immense love for his last release, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’.
