Lucknow: After a spell of rain and gusty wind that brought a brief chill to the city last week, weather conditions began changing from Monday morning with clear sky and strong sunshine. However, by evening, weather turned cloudy with a cool breeze.The weather department said western and eastern parts of the state could receive another spell of rain and thundershowers later this week, while the central part of the state will receive isolated rain at some places with fall in temperatures as a fresh Western Disturbance (WD) is approaching the Himalayas and could change the weather for a few days.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rise in daytime temperature by up to four degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 18 degrees Celsius.On Monday, the maximum temperature in the city was 31.2 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal, while the minimum was 17.1 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels remained high. Senior scientist at Met department, Mohammad Danish, said, “A WD is likely to become active again in the coming days. Rain and thunderstorms may develop on March 26. In Lucknow, its impact will mostly be seen as light cloud cover, while western Uttar Pradesh may see a stronger effect. By March 27, the system is expected to influence eastern UP as well. On March 26 and 27, weather is likely to remain slightly unstable around the state. Further, with clearer skies, daytime temperatures are expected to rise steadily.”
