‘Raja Shivaji’, starring Riteish Deshmukh, is continuing its dream run at the box office. The historical epic that is currently in its second week in theatres, is slowly making its way into the record books.As per a box office report on sacnilk, the film has crossed the Rs 20 crore mark in its second week and is now steadily marching towards becoming one of the highest-grossing Marathi films of all time. The film, that completed 12 days at the box office, earned an estimated Rs 2.50 crore. This was an estimated Rs 10 lakh increase from the box office collections earned on Monday, with the film scoring an estimated collection of Rs 2.40 crore after a good second weekend.The film opened strongly in its first week, collecting Rs 52.65 crore, and has maintained an excellent hold in its second week with collections already reaching Rs 20.5 crore. According to the latest trade figures, The film has earned Rs 73.15 crore in net collections across an impressive 60,155 shows.‘Raja Shivaji’ has emerged as a major success story for Marathi cinema in 2026, reportedly amassed a massive Rs 86.65 crore in worldwide gross collections within just 12 days of its theatrical release. From this, the report states that the entire gross collections have come from India alone.The strong momentum now places Raja Shivaji on track to become the second highest-grossing Marathi film of all time.As of May 2026, ‘Sairat’ remains the highest-grossing Marathi film of all time, with an estimated worldwide gross of around Rs 110 crore. However, trade reports indicate that ‘Raja Shivaji’ could soon challenge that benchmark if it continues its current pace at the box office. The film is set to move past the collections of ‘Baipan Bhaari Deva’, which earned approximately Rs 90–92 crore globally.The film also directed by Deshmukh himself, the historical drama has maintained its hold over the box office despite facing competition from various film releases over the past two weeks. It not only faced off against the Hollywood film ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, but also faced competition from newer releases like the action film ‘Mortal Kombat II’ and the biopic ‘Michael’.
