Lucknow: Complex pediatric surgeries can be precisely and safely done through robotic systems on children, experts concluded at the three-day international conclave, ROBOCOPS 2026, on Sunday at SGPGIMS.Experts who were part of the event showcased advances in minimally invasive techniques for children, with a focus on emerging technologies and patient safety.A key highlight was a live operative session using the Da Vinci Xi robotic platform, where surgeons including Dr Basant Kumar, Dr Ankur and Dr Vijay performed complex pediatric procedures that were broadcast for real-time learning.Participants also received hands-on training on multiple robotic systems, including Da Vinci Xi, Hugo RAS and Versius, gaining practical exposure to evolving surgical technologies.Organising chairperson Dr Basant Kumar said, “ROBOCOPS 2026 has been more than just a conference; it has been a testament to our collective goal of making surgery safer and more precise for our youngest patients.”The conclave also featured academic sessions, a CME programme and networking activities.‘Robotic op key to treat breast cancer’ Lucknow: Future strategies in breast cancer care, including minimally invasive surgery and personalised treatment, were highlighted as the SGPGI Breast Course, 2026 and IAES Midcon which concluded on Sunday. Experts discussed patient selection in minimally invasive procedures, personalised approaches in metastatic cases, and challenges in treating younger patients. The three-day event saw wide participation and concluded with awards recognising academic contributions. Organisers said the course emphasised precision, personalised care and multidisciplinary collaboration to improve outcomes.
