Lucknow: UP’s finance and parliamentary affairs minister Suresh Khanna and Sarojini Nagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Wednesday launched the ‘Net Zero Hospital, Sarojini Nagar’ campaign during the Aarogya Parv – Doctors’ Day Dialogue and Felicitation Ceremony, attended by over 250 doctors, hospital administrators and healthcare experts from leading medical institutions across Lucknow.The programme began with tributes to Maharishi Sushruta, Maharishi Charak and Bharat Ratna BC Roy. Rajeshwar described doctors as ‘the finest servants of humanity’ and stressed the need to shift healthcare towards prevention through regular health screening, fitness, balanced nutrition and public awareness. He highlighted initiatives in Sarojini Nagar, including over 100 open gyms, the Sarojini Nagar Sports League and medical assistance exceeding ₹25 crore to more than 1,500 beneficiaries.Launching the campaign, Singh said the initiative aims to promote environmentally sustainable hospitals through solar power, rainwater harvesting, energy-efficient buildings, scientific biomedical waste management and reduced carbon emissions.Khanna lauded the contribution of doctors to nation-building and highlighted the expansion of Uttar Pradesh’s healthcare infrastructure under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath.During the dialogue, healthcare experts recommended strengthening trauma care, transplant services, telemedicine, AI-enabled healthcare, early cancer screening and referral systems.
