Lucknow: Transport department launched a two-week checking drive of school vehicles in the city on Wednesday.On the first day of the campaign, ARTO (enforcement) Alok Kumar Yadav led inspections at Mount Fort Intermediate College, Carmel Convent School in Badshahnagar and Evergreen Public School. Officials issued challans to 12 school vehicles found operating without valid permits or fitness certificates, while two school vans were impounded at the P4 parking facility.Transport authorities have asked all schools and vehicle owners to complete permits, fitness certificates and insurance formalities by July 7. Officials warned that any school vehicle found operating without the required documents after the deadline will be seized, with the school management and vehicle owner held responsible.
