Lucknow: Strengthening administrative accountability and improving governance, the basic education department on Monday made it mandatory for senior officials to attend all online review meetings conducted by the department. The decision comes under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who has consistently emphasised disciplined, transparent and result-oriented administration. In a missive to all assistant directors and basic education officers, basic education director Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi stated the participation of senior officials from various districts was missing in online meetings. He said that In some cases, BSAs neither attended the meetings themselves nor ensured representation by an authorised senior officer. To address the issue, the department has introduced a stricter participation mechanism. All officers will now be required to join review meetings only through their official email IDs to ensure proper verification of participants and enhance transparency in the review process.Under the new guidelines, if an officer is unable to attend due to unavoidable official responsibilities, a senior subordinate officer must be formally authorised to represent the district or division, Chaturvedi said. The department has also prohibited joining a meeting from the same district or division through multiple devices or separate login IDs. Where more than one officer’s presence is required, all officials must participate together from a single location using one authorised login, the order read. The decision, said officials, will improve the quality of reviews, ensure timely implementation of decisions and accelerate monitoring and execution of govt schemes across the state.
