NEW DELHI: The Bhartiya Janata Party’s Jiban Gogoi secured victory in Assam’s Sissiborgaon constituency after 19 rounds of counting. The constituency seat saw BJP’s Jiban Gogoi take on Rajjor Dal leader Dulal Chandra Boruah. Gogoi secured victory with a margin of 40,593 votes as he garnered 75,758 votes in total.Multiple exit polls had predicted the BJP-led government to achieve a comfortable majority, pointing to Himanta Biswa Sarma’s continuation as chief minister.
