Lucknow: A training centre in Rudha (Sitapur), the native village of Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey, is helping local youth prepare for recruitment in the armed forces and other uniformed services.The facility was set up under a village development initiative supported by SBI Foundation and implemented by Sahbhagi Shikshan Kendra.The Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey Youth Training Centre provides coaching for physical and written examinations for the Army, police, BSF, CISF and other govt services. The facility includes a running track, open gym, rope-climbing area, reading room and training ground.According to records, 135 youth enrolled at the centre and 128 completed the training. Over 80 candidates applied for various recruitment processes, while 10 cleared written or physical stages for posts including Agniveer, BSF and CISF.Many trainees come from farming and daily wage labour families and travel from nearby villages to attend sessions. The centre is part of wider development efforts in Rudha, including improvements to schools, the village library, a Gram Seva Kendra and women’s skill-development programmes.
