MUMBAI: Another hit-and-run case has come to light in Mumbai after a speeding Mercedes rammed into a police checkpoint at Marine Drive, critically injuring two constables on duty in the early hours of Sunday.According to Mumbai Police, the incident took place around 5.20am on Sunday when police personnel were conducting a blockade operation in the Marine Drive area, according to news agency ANI.A 29-year-old driver, identified as Nihal Solanki, was arrested by police, and the Mercedes involved in the incident was seized from the scene.“The incident occurred at 5.20am on Sunday morning, when police constables were on duty during a blockade in Mumbai’s Marine Drive area. After the incident had happened, the police force present at the scene immediately seized the car and arrested the driver. The Mumbai Police is currently investigating the matter further, and the two injured constables are being treated at a Mumbai hospital,” Mumbai Police said.
