Lucknow: Panchayati Raj minister Om Prakash Rajbhar on Saturday accused the Samajwadi Party of attempting to vitiate the atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh over the Kataria village incident in Ghazipur. He asserted that a girl’s death should not be politicised and added that the state govt had already extended financial aid and housing support to the bereaved family.Rajbhar said the incident pertained to a personal matter involving a girl and the police acted promptly in the case.Acting on the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Rajbhar visited the family and handed over a cheque for Rs 5 lakh, a land allotment document of 1.5 bigha, and approval under the CM awas scheme. He alleged that despite permission for only 15 members, nearly 250 people linked to the SP reached the village, leading to tensions and stone-pelting. Rajbhar criticised SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, stating that making claims of murder or sexual assault without medical confirmation was irresponsible.
