Lucknow: The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) conducted a special drive against unlicensed pet dogs in Aliganj on Thursday and collected Rs 24,000 through penalties and licence fees.Teams from the animal welfare wing, enforcement squad and dog-catching unit checked pet licences and anti-rabies vaccination records in residential areas of Zone III.Four pet owners were found keeping dogs without valid licences and were fined a total of Rs 20,000. Officials said all four owners completed registration formalities during the drive and were issued fresh licences.Animal welfare officer Dr Abhinav Verma urged pet owners to register their pets, ensure timely anti-rabies vaccination and use leashes in public places.
