Lucknow: Reacting to the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday, former student leader Satyendra Kumar Pandey said that the use of force on students who were raising their voice for legitimate demands and rights during the student movement are concerning.“In a democracy, students’ concerns should be addressed through dialogue, and not with batons and tear gas,” he said.He said that the way Rahul Gandhi raised students’ issues brought the matter to the national level.“On questions related to students, the govt and the education ministry should come forward with sensitivity and accountability,” he said.Pandey said that students were not only the future of the country, but also an important democratic voice.
