Lucknow: An evening of music and storytelling struck an emotional chord with audiences at a private hotel in the city on Tuesday. The event, ‘Tumhare Liye’, brought together lovers of literature, ghazals and reflective performance in an intimate cultural setting.Conceptualised by Divya Bharadwaj Bhattacharya, the programme explored themes of love, longing and nostalgia through a blend of narration and live music. Storytelling sessions by actor Sadia Siddiqui, Kanak Rekha Chauhan and Bhattacharya held the audience’s attention as personal and layered narratives unfolded alongside soulful ghazals.Bhattacharya presented ‘Achchhi Ladki’, a moving story centred on the bond between a father and daughter. Her performance drew a hearty response from the audience for its emotional honesty and relatability.Actor Sadia Siddiqui narrated ‘Aakhri Khat’, the story of Nargis, a celebrated ghazal singer haunted by memories of her first love, Nayab, even after 22 years.Kanak Rekha Chauhan narrated ‘Asmani Saree’, story of Neelima, a married woman and mother of three, whose chance meeting with a man she later discovered was an author changed her life. In a diary gifted by him, Neelima begins writing poetry and, years later, receives an award for her work from the same man.
