Lucknow: Police Response Vehicle (PRV) team of UP Police’s 112 emergency service helped avert a tragedy in Amethi by rescuing a man who was attempting suicide.UP 112 received a distress call reporting a domestic dispute in Saresar village under Jagdishpur police station on Friday. PRV 5344 was immediately dispatched to the spot.Police found a man locked inside a room and not responding despite repeated calls from family members and officers. Sensing imminent danger, the team acted decisively, going to the terrace of the neighbouring house and gained entry. They found the man hanging from a noose made of cloth. With no time to lose, the personnel cut the noose and brought the man down, thereby saving his life. He was subsequently provided medical assistance.Police officials said timely intervention of the PRV team prevented a fatality and underscored the critical role of rapid response in such emergencies. In recognition of their prompt action and presence of mind, UP 112 director general Binod Kumar Singh announced rewards for team members Hariom Upadhyay, Pramila Tiwari, Kaushik Singh and Pawan Kumar Saroj. Praising the personnel, the DG said their dedication and quick action continue to enhance the credibility of UP Police.
